Kaiapoi Travel Rugs are a firm fav among collectors and this is a very fine example of a vintage rug. Deep dark green base with vibrant green, red and cream stripe in a traditional plaid design.
This blanket is a medium to light weight firm smooth wool. It is even thickness throughout and weave throughout.
132cm x 180cm which is slightly larger than standard Travel Rug size.
Brilliant Kaiapoi Label. The most interesting thing about this is the reference to K.P.G Textiles which stands for Kaiapoi Petone Group Textiles - a merger between Kaiapoi Woollen Mills and Wellington Woollen Company dating this blanket late 1960's. So cool!!
This blanket is a wonderful travel rug in excellent condition ready for many more adventures.
