Key Feature: Heavy duty vintage
This is an early NZ Wool Vintage blanket somewhere in the realm of 100+ years old. No label to give us more detailed information but an excellent example of the durability of wool
I term these blankets Car Rugs as opposed to the lighter Travel Rugs. They are extremely heavy for a blanket (this one is over 2kg). Wool is firm and has a vintage uniform texture.
This blanket is made with a double weave method. It is the equivalent of two blankets woven together with two different designs.
Topside is mid brown with fine plaid design in emerald, light cream, dark chocolate and terracotta. The reverse side is the same design except in dark chocolate teal, terracotta and cream.
In usage terms not the type of blanket you would cosy up in though you could probably survive some pretty harsh temperatures if you did! This type of blanket is best for outdoor picnics, part of a car or vintage display, to cover over a lovely big couch or protect the surface of a polished table.
Extra large size 150cm x 186cm.
Fringing to the top and bottom edges. There are a number of damaged or missing fringing.
No makers label but we can confirm this blanket is 100% New Zealand wool and made in New Zealand.
A Fresh Retro Love, Restore to Relove label has been added to one corner.
This blanket has a few marks to the lighter side (see photo).
A wonderful blanket for the collector to be both used and admired!
