This blanket is quite unique. It has the weight and visual design of the really vintage car rugs but it has the softness and slightly more open weave of the newer travel rugs. (and by newer I mean 1950's/60's )
Squareish size at 132cm x 150cm makes an enjoyable size picnic blanket. Softness and flexibility means you can still wrap it around yourself (and quite literally the warmest you could find) as its construction is equivalent of two blankets fused together - double regular thickness. Which also means extremely durable. 1.6kg of pure wool!
Patterned side is taupe, deep brown, grey, red with a thin detail line of gold. Oversize tartan pattern. The reverse side is solid brown with a real rich depth.
Tassels top and bottom edges, unfortunately no label - would love to know more details about its origin.
One zig-zag repair about 2cm long to the blanket edge.
